ABSTRACT The theme of the thesis which develops for research is "the need for a standard regulating sex work in Bolivia" , in response to the lack of protection to persons who exercise such activity. In Bolivia has failed to solve the problem of prostitution and are still looking for the most appropriate method so that the existence of it does not generate impact the population. As State has maintained a system mixed, abolitionist and regulationist, so it is necessary to rethink the issue without neglecting the social characteristics and needs of gender of the population. A international sex work is legal and regulated in different European countries as Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Netherlands, Spain and France, which have more permissive trends. Within Latin America, Uruguay has only a regulation of the exercise of sex work, other Latin American countries are limited to General provisions. Is why that is needed to establish a special rule which regulate and protect individuals practising sexual labour, since it is legal and unregulated, work being one of the most growing and profitable which commits both to nationals and foreigners, scenarios to practice sex work are conducive to the violation of rights and the absence of effective policies contribute to discrimination against these workers in Bolivia, by what specific arrangements will be required to detail the sex work.
