V ABSTRACT DESINGN OF EXTENSION OF THE HOME TERESA DE LOS ANDES FOR PEOPLE WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF COTOCA Research advisor: Dra. Arq. Irma Miriam Chugar Zubieta The present work aims to project the expansion of the home "Teresa de los Andes" for people with serious and very serious mental disabilities, under the model of a humanized architecture, with the purpose of providing adequate care to improve their quality of life, in the municipality of Cotoca, department of Santa Cruz. The methodology used was a bibliographic review of primary and secondary sources to obtain different qualitative and quantitative data related to the subject. Likewise, a field survey work was carried out, through observation visits, photographic records, interviews with key people, in order to obtain a more accurate approach on the deficiencies to be treated and problems with the equipment. From the studies carried out, it is concluded that the home for people with mental disabilities does not meet the necessary requirements, the building was carried out without architectural planning. The concrete study with the projection of the extension of the home "Teresa of the Andes" for people with intellectual disabilities.
