V ABSTRACT Incorporation of modernist principles in Bolivian architecture (1945-1975) Case study: La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz Valeria Mealla Dorado Advisor: Dra. Arq. I. Miriam Chugar Z. The purpose of this research is to analyze the incorporation of modernist principles based on the postulates of the modern movement in the architecture of the central axis of Bolivia, with the purpose of contributing with a database that generally contains a catalog of the works of greater importance, as a document that will serve as a guide and consultation for students, the university community, future architects or career professionals. The methodology used was a bibliographic and documentary review with three approaches: within the international, Latin American and Bolivian context. Also, in the field study, activities of identification, mapping and photographic registration, categorization, analysis and recognition of elements are carried out based on the postulates and modernist principles characteristic of the region. Ending with a systematization of the data obtained and a content analysis. We conclude that there is a lack of knowledge and awareness around the importance of the custody of modern architecture, as a component of urban and social history, resulting in the partial or entire loss of all the reforms that this period brought to the nation. Keywords: Incorporation, Modernist postulates, Modern architecture
